electronic Hardware Design Services

NeuronicWorks’ embedded hardware design services cover the full scope of product development process from initial concept to prototyping, certification and manufacturing.

Our hardware designers will engineer the best solution for your requirements and objectives. From start to finish, our capabilities in embedded hardware development include system design, schematic design, PCB layout, production, testing, documentation, and certification support.

Talk to us today about your high-speed, high-density, analog, digital or mixed-signal project; your control or instrumentation needs; or your micropower or kilowatt idea. With offices in Toronto, Canada we serve as an official electronic design house for several leading global component suppliers. We specialize in helping you find the best components and solutions to meet your cost, size and time objectives.

We have many years of experience in review and re-design older PCBAs using new active components to replace obsolete, Not Recommended for New Design (NRFND) or difficult to source components in the North American supply chain.

Proficiencies: Cadence OrCAD, Mentor PADS, Altium Designer, Autodesk EAGLE

proof of concept

An essential component of early-stage electronics hardware design is the product mock-up or proof-of-concept. Your idea is first developed into a high-level design (HLD) and is built using standard components and off-the-shelf modules. Once proof of concept is confirmed, we proceed to build your custom solution.

We will design the necessary blueprints required to drive your electronics hardware project. From ultra-low-power to KW systems, from low noise to switching circuits, from analog and digital to mixed circuitry we are ready to tackle any hardware design hurdle. We choose each component based on performance and quality targets, availability, and budget, then assemble them into a clear, well planned and organized logical schematic of your product.

Component placement is essential for the “flow” of the board and for system functionality, along with proper thermal management and low noise performance.
Our Portfolio includes:

  • Rigid and Flex PCBs, multi-PCB assemblies
  • High speed digital, analog, mixed-signal and RF designs
  • Controlled impedance, differential pair, and transmission lines design
  • High current, voltage, and power designs
  • Designs for harsh operating conditions, extreme temperatures and environments
  • Compact and miniaturized designs
  • High volume optimized designs

Assembling the prototype is one of the most rewarding steps of the hardware development process. Seeing the final pieces of the puzzle come together is priceless. We offer in-house PCB assembly capability for prototype, NPI and high-to-low volume production runs.
Our Prototyping services include:

  • PCB assembly
  • Programming and testing
  • Cable and wiring harness assembly
  • Chassis and case assembly
  • Final System assembly

The board bring-up phase is a key milestone as your product comes to life for the first time. Individual subsystems are tested and tuned for optimal functionality. We start at the foundation of your product design by testing its power systems. Ensuring that your design is properly powered is essential for the nominal operation of all other components. We also measure and control radiated emissions so that your product design can meet regulatory requirements.
We proceed by testing the digital and analog features of your design. Some of the typical functions we perform are programming microcontrollers to read and write to peripherals, probing communications buses check for signal integrity, and tuning and matching RF networks.
Once satisfied that your design is functional, system integration can begin.

After the first board bring-up test, we ensure that integration of embedded hardware with firmware, software and the mechanics is seamless. We build your system one component at a time, increasing complexity with every step. We always verify correct functionality alongside the requirements list to ensure a successful delivery.
